Why does hair falls for man not for women..?

Many women loose their hair as they grow older, too, but not in the ';male pattern baldness'; syndrome. It just gets thinner all over, rather than having a part of the scalp bald and part still growing hair, like many men do. It's a hormone thing. I am 58, female, and my hair is much thinner now than pre-menopause.Why does hair falls for man not for women..?
